
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Mahar is a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1999, then served with the US Navy Dental Corps until 2002. At that time, he transferred to the Navy Reserve and began specialty training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He served as Chief Resident and completed residency in 2006. He and his family located to North Carolina in July 2006.
He is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, as well as the Wake County Dental Association. He is also a Diplomate in the National Board of Dental Anesthesiology.
Dr. Mahar is currently an adjunct professor at ECU School of Dental Medicine in Lillington, NC.
He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support through the American Heart Association.
Dr. Mahar offers a wide range of oral surgery services with a special interest in dental implant placement and helping patients regain the look, feel and function of their own teeth when they have been lost or do not develop naturally.
He lives in Holly Springs, North Carolina, with his wife, Melissa, and sons Jack, Tate, and Finn.
